"No Olho da Rua" makes shows in the beaches and releases its first CD

Noel Rosa's music, Ataulfo Alves, Lupicínio Rodrigues, Cartola and Ary Barroso are part of the imaginary carioca. Natural, then, that are executed in one of you sweat favorite atmospheres: the beach.

It is what comes making the group, that releases its first CD and since 1997 has taken classic of MPB for tourist points of the city, as Rodrigo de Freitas' Lagoon and the beaches (Leblon and of Ipanema), where its instruments disembark every Sunday, starting from 11:00 AM.

Formed by Paulo Rego (sax and flute), Roberto Alves (piano and keyboard), Theomar Ferreira ( drums) and Fernando Roza (bass), o "No Olho da Rua" exists - officially - since 1990. The four members, professional musicians, played separately with names as Alceu Valença, Marisa Monte and Zélia Duncan, but they obtained time to accomplish jam sporadic sessions.

Until that one day, already musically well tuned, they had an idea.

- We knew that we were sharpened enough to present ourselves in public, but hardly would get a space. So we decided to play in the streets. - said Paulo Rego.

Although it has already arisen to the stage of several houses of show, the musician affirms that the experience of coming outdoors is only: - In a beach, for example, you are sure that the people's interest is a 100%.

It's because nobody is there for obligation. If people interrupt their walk it is because they really want to hear you.
